I am Assistant Professor of Social Studies Education in the School of Education at Mercy College. I have a PhD in History from Stony Brook University. I was previously a high school teacher in Connecticut for about eight years. In 2011, I received a leadership award from the Connecticut Education Association. I have edited two books, The Encyclopedia of Blacks in European History and Culture (2009) and The Black Musketeer: Reevaluating Alexandre Dumas within the Francophone World 2011). I have also published several peer-reviewed history articles and articles on teaching methods.

Abstract

This syllabus is for a 9-week online graduate survey course in an interdisciplinary Liberal Arts program that introduces students to current scholarship and themes relating to women in United States history from the early Native American societies through the present.
